Flexible Tenancy consultation

Outcome and update on the Council's decision and how it may affect you

Following a consultation with our tenants and a decision by the Council’s Cabinet, we will no longer issue five-year Flexible Tenancies. From 1 April 2020, all new Council tenants will be offered a secure tenancy.

If you already have a Dacorum Borough Council flexible tenancy, we will write to you shortly to give more information about how this affects you. The most important change is that you would not be asked to move at the end of your current five-year flexible tenancy if this is after 1 April 2020.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, our planned consultation with tenants about the updated secure tenancy agreement has been put on hold until further notice. It is now more likely to take place in the autumn. This may mean some flexible tenants will need to sign up to our existing secure tenancy before getting the new updated version next year.

Please also note that home visits are not being carried out during the current situation.
