Chatty Cafes are coming to Dacorum

We're working in partnership with The Chatty Cafe Scheme to offer Virtual Chatty Cafes for anyone aged 18 and over in Dacorum who would like to have a natter with others to brighten their day.

The Chatty Cafe Scheme was started to help bring people together and Dacorum's Virtual Chatty Cafes will be run weekly by a member of the Chatty Cafe team on Zoom. They are a relaxed and informal way to chat and connect with others in the area, which in turn reduces loneliness and supports wellbeing.

There will be a session for adults of all ages (18 and over) and one specifically for younger adults, ages 18 to 30.

The online Chatty Café for all adults (18 and over) will run each Monday (1pm to 1.30pm), starting on 15 February 2021.

The online Chatty Café for 18 to 30-year olds will run every Wednesday (1pm to 1.30pm), starting on 17 February 2021.

What are Virtual Chatty Cafes and how do I get involved?

  • 30 minutes easy chat each week - we talk about anything!
  • See if you feel better after a chat and seeing some new faces
  • Hear how others are coping in lockdown in your area

Anyone who would like to join the weekly Chatty Cafes can email jenny@thechattycafescheme.co.uk for the Zoom link. If anyone needs help with using Zoom, Jenny can assist and arrange a practice session with you

"The Chatty Café has helped me feel part of a community, so important when we are being told to stay at home” - Chatty Café participant.

"Human connection is so important to us as humans, as important as air and water. Make yourself a cuppa and come and join us for a 30-minute chat every week.  We promise you will feel better after." - The Chatty Café team.

You can also find details about the Chatty Cafes on our Active Dacorum page and on Active Dacorum's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
